OMG!!!!!! I GOT INTO NUSHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, they said that we're supposed to get an email by the end of June. Today is the 14th, the MIDDLE of June.... anyway, they sent this email telling me that i did well in the selection camp and test and im invited for a evening tea reception with the principal aka Associate Professor Lai Yee Hing.....
other ppl, if u get the same email or other email still telling u that u got in, plz comment here... thx.... IM GOING TO GO TO NUSHS!!!! that is, if i get 2 A*s for me maths and science.... which is becoming abit daunting....

U mean it's a must to score A* for Math and Science in order to get into da school? Or is tt a target for urself?

same here. i'm also on their reserve list. i think its perfectly fine to be on their reserve list, assuming that most peeps will be going to the IP schools and not NUSHS...
anybody else? any body noes abt peter, dyl, karen, serene, etc etc?
sad....i didnt...not dat i expected lah..wad with my lousy marks 4 sci and the also somewad lousy marks for maths...and i took a damn long time to 'warm' 2 my grp mates too...sigh....at least im on their reserve list...but..no offense...but i find it a little unbelievable dat adil didnt get in...sigh...

the psle requirements totally suck lor.....sigh...no offense to anybdy out there...but i dun really see anyone of u(besides mich...maybe..if she works REALLY REALLY hard...)getting an A* for sci in the psle....maths its possible...especially 4 ka-shing and mich....but..its a little too stringent..rite?sigh....

getting an A* in sci is actually rather easy and possible... provided ddfb improves in sec B. me is ok, but i need to be less careless in A.

well...i'm 99.99% sure that i heard that...but logic says that mish is rite.
heard that at the talk, i mean. both at the one in school and the one they had at NUS
however Serene got a point too...confirming one's position in da skool is not da only significance of applying thru DSA.
I have made up my mind, and thus not continue to be electrocuted. I now believe tt mish has read/heard wrongly, and tt u have to get A* for math and science if u didnt apply thru DSA. (Some1 pls say I'm trying to convince my conscience as there is nothing to refer to on NUSHS website)
i realise dis isn't e place for dis but.. is there anyone who signed up for RGS in 1st window who gt a reply frm them yet? cos i havent. Or is there anyone who signed up for dunman high and gt a reply back? i havent gt any replies frm any schools so like to find out.

me mum told me abt the 2A* things and seriously, u think they'll let u go in with a 200?!?! come on, its a MATHS AND SCIENCE skool. 200 is freakin low. and wat if u get like 50 for both maths and science and slightly better in eng and chinese?!?! u think they'll still let u in?! and yes, logic tells u that im correct. but if at the tea thingy he says only need 200, well then, thats TOO easy.... and i think the 200 is for stuff like RG and dunman, the other skools.
btw, no, we got nth except for the NUSHS stuff.

yes i noe i suck ok? but u gotta admit, A* in maths is pretty possible. A* in science is not all that bad too.... and im not implying anything. im just stating the facts. and i dont think that RGS will allow a 200 as well....
my parents dont really like NUSHS that much either, coz they r worried abt my future. ANd i hav to agree with them, NUSHS is just too specialised. I mean, it will spell doom and oblivion for me when i grow up and get a job, cos the jobs that i can vye for are either related to maths, or science...
i think alot of NUSHS's future-students are on the reserve list...

But I'm not sure because some of my friends didn't fulfill that. I got into NUSHS by doing well in the admission test. HAHA I PONNED CAMP!!! WOOHOO!!! Well NUSHS is really fun!!! Look for me next yr-- I'm Chen Ting An!!! Erm... I'm in the badminton schoolteam so erm... it might be easier for you to find me if I tell you that. Yeah, find me; and I'll give you tips! Woohoo! ohyeah ting an, i live freakin far away frm NUSHS, is there school bus and is there boarding for yr 1? and yes, btw freakin far means both frm the now-campus and the future one @ clementi. i hope u can continue coming to this bloggie cos we dont exactly have many sec peeps coming here. in fact, we dont have any peeps frm anywhere except 612 and 613. ohyeah, and PLEASE reply to this comment cos me mum wants to know.
Well, there is no school bus unless you count the erm... okay I have a Hougang friend--> she might know. Think you have to go to AMK station or whatever station? Then there's this bus which will take you to this bus stop(not to the school directly) and you walk to school. Relax lah I live far away from NUSHS too but my dad drives me there every morning. Yup. If you wanna go home and you live at Hougang that area or AMK or whatever hor; I only know that you can sit 92 to this bus stop then cross the road and sit 165 home. ^^ That's all I know. Erm... ask me friend--> lionqueen24@hotmail.com; she sits bus to school every morning. Yep. Assembly starts at about 7.45 so no worries LAH. K? Come to NUSHS!!!! =D And tag at my blog lah.
There are still many rumours spreading about boarding. What I heard is that you must be at least a Yr 3? or Yr 2? in order to be eligible for boarding. Yep. And I think there is compulsory boarding in Yr 5. Yep.
sigh..... sounds complicated....

This yr, the hall is forever open to ANYBODY at ANYTIME to play badminton; the MRL is open to anybody at anytime also, to play com games!!! And you can play soccer at any time too; I think the only thing you can't is tennis. Need to ask teacher.
Haha but I'm not sure about next yr since we're changing campuses. Hopefully it'll be just as fun.
Yeah. Just come here, study and relax and find a sport to play and enjoy yourselves; esp on sports dae!(hey it rhymes)

BUT NOT SO!!! You see I'm enjoying myselves. And not so much pressure, cos actually there ARE some mainstream peeps who got into NUSHS and they are coping OKAY and we get along well. Lol I'm not sure how they admitted people in, but not all are maths/sci-inclined. Many are sports-inclined. LOL. Got in through camp(the mainstreamers)

Aww man, I guess if i dont make my presence known, no one really notices me.... I'm Dylan, another junior (future junior) that wants to go to NUSH. But the problem mainly with NUSH is the fact that its a 40 minute drive from my house, so I dunno whether I want to go...
TO Lip Tong- you spelt top-notchish wrong, and it isn't even a real word. I'm having trouble picking from NUSH and RI, which everyone wants me to go to...
Dyl if u wanna go RI u have to get thru either DSA or PSLE tscore of 260+...so if u really wanna go NUSH dun apply for RI during DSA...simple rite? After all u've been accepted already

To that Yihui, if you're keen on RGS then I don't think that our propaganda would work. Besides, we want people to come here because of INTEREST and not cos they got *convinced* by people having to endure their *insert swear word here*-ing high noses. All that kills school spirit is apathy, and cynicism. So can it and shut it if you don't want to come here; we're not gonna grovel at your feet.
And to deaaaaar Serene, no need tuition lahh. Should be quite okay whats... even I can cope liaos, dun see why you shouldn't. And if those tuition teachers raise their fees then DON'T GO!!! Haha teachers here are available at any time, you can just ask them questions. And also, what are seniors for? Haha you can come ask me lahh!!! It's not stressful of course, it's fun you know. We've got youth day; game's day and sports carn and whatever they're all so fun. x)

Hmm... games day was a day with GAMES, not sports haha. Games stations for us to play... youth day was pretty much the same. It was really fun.
Floorball... I think there is if I'm not wrong... in Sports Carn. This year Sports Carn we had badminton soccer and basketball... sports carn 2 we're gonna have track events... and we just had our cross country today (15/7) xD FUN MAN!

Uh hi. Its not stressful in school. However, u MAY be in school for long hours without any breaks (that is if u have chosen too many subjects thus causing a lousy timetable with no free periods at all). Just have constant studies/revisions u'll be fine.
IMO, tution is not really that neccessary. Look, the school hours now are pretty long. By the time u've reached home if would have had been late already. With all the stuffs (homework?) with u, tutions will only add on to ur burdens. what i suggest is that the person just do his/her work during their free periods (and revise also) so as not to waste time.
Skipping of years will be explained when u come in next year.
Um, yea. Our school is not really biased to Math and Sci only as we have had won other honors in other fields. (ie, chess. etc).
This is a math and sci school. Of cuz it can't possibly only emphasise little on them.

I take Forensic Science! By the way, Ms Cheong is also a good chemistry teacher too. She prepares good notes and worksheets. In chemistry, you have to work towards UNDERSTANDING the CONCEPTS and then applying them. Alright?
